Our Nursery Provision
Welcome to Eastfield’s Nursery, we are extremely proud that our Nursery provision was graded ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted (2023).
Children in our Nursery benefit from a rich and engaging environment that encourages exploration, experimentation, and discovery both indoors and outdoors. We recognise that high-quality early experiences are crucial for future success, and we are committed to providing the best possible start for every child.
Children engage in a wide range of hands-on, practical learning experiences delivered through one-to-one, small group, and whole-class activities. Continuous provision allows children to choose where and how they learn through play, with carefully planned activities available both indoors and outdoors to support independent and adult-guided learning.
Activities are based on each child’s next steps, ensuring they are appropriately challenged and supported. Practitioners engage in high-quality interactions throughout the day - modelling language, demonstrating, questioning, and encouraging learning during both planned and child-initiated play.
Ongoing assessment is carried out through observations and work samples, aligned with the EYFS Curriculum. These assessments inform daily and weekly planning and help shape our topics based on children’s interests and developmental needs.
At the end of Nursery, children are assessed against the 3- to 4-year-old check points to ensure that children are on track to start Reception.
