Behaviour at Eastfield Primary Academy

At Eastfield Primary Academy, we believe that positive behaviour is fundamental to creating a safe, happy and successful learning environment. We have high expectations for all pupils and work hard to develop respectful, caring and responsible individuals who are ready to learn and contribute positively to our Academy community.

Our approach is based on positive relationships, consistency and support. We recognise that behaviour is a form of communication and, while we promote clear expectations and boundaries, we also seek to understand and address any underlying needs that may be affecting a child's behaviour. This includes making reasonable adjustments and providing additional support where needed, particularly for pupils with SEND or those experiencing difficulties outside of school.

We aim to help children develop:

•    respect for themselves, others and their environment;
•    positive self-esteem and confidence;
•    cooperation and collaboration;
•    self-discipline and resilience; and
•    independence and responsibility for their actions.

Strong partnerships between home and school are an important part of our approach. We work closely with parents and carers to celebrate success, address concerns early and ensure that every child receives the support they need to thrive.

Our behaviour systems are designed to promote positive choices, recognise positive behaviour and create an environment where all children feel safe, valued and able to achieve their best. Where behaviour falls below our expectations, we respond fairly, consistently and proportionately, with the aim of helping children learn from their experiences, understand the impact of their choices and make positive choices in the future.
